Breakfast is an important meal in my book, especially since this how you start your day. My breakfast must include coffee and something nutritious to get me going and have energy to keep up with my kids. Whether you go to work or stay home like me, it’s not always easy to get something nutritious in the morning. Berry Power smoothie to the rescue! This smoothie packs a punch with protein, fiber, antioxidants, and probiotics to get your day going and keep you full till lunch.
We started making smoothies for breakfast about 2 years ago when we bought our Blendtec blender. Prior to this, I thought it was silly to spend so much money on a blender when I could get one for a fraction of the price. After some convincing from my husband and testing it out, I was amazed how smoothly it blended frozen fruit with ease. Since then we’ve been making smoothies every day for breakfast. If you enjoy drinking smoothies I would highly recommend investing in a good quality blender. It’s so worth it!
The Berry Power smoothie is pretty much our base recipe and we change it sometimes with different frozen fruit. We buy our smoothie ingredients in bulk to save money. Plus you can usually get organic ingredients in bulk much cheaper than your regular grocery store. You could also prep the ingredients in individual bags and store in the freezer to make the process even faster.
On days I don’t drink a smoothie, I can tell I’m a little sluggish and craving the nutrients this smoothie delivers. I’m actually drinking one now! Special thanks to Danny for making one every morning, since I’m usually still in bed with the kids when he leaves for work.
