Easy Authentic Carne Asada Street Tacos

Char grilled steak cooked on a seasoned flat top, served in a warm corn tortilla and topped with salsa verde, onions, and cilantro.

  • 12 Corn tortillas
  • 2 lbs Steak NY Strip or Sirloin
  • 2 Tbsp Oil High heat like Avocado, Canola, or Grape Seed
  • 2 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Black Pepper


  • 1 Avocado diced and mixed with 1 cup of Salsa Verde
  • 1/4 cup White onion Chopped fine
  • 1/4 cup Cilantro Chopped
  • Sliced Radishes
  • Grilled bulb onions or jalapenos


  1. Trim excess fat from steak and cut into small bite size cubes. Season steak with oil, salt, and pepper.

  2. Heat a cast iron flat top over the grill or stove on high heat. Add a tablespoon of oil and seasoned cubed steak. Use tongs to move steak around till all sides are cooked and you have some crispy pieces.

  3. Remove steak, place in a heat proof dish, and keep warm in the oven or warming area of the grill. Warm tortillas on the flat top and keep warm in foil.
  4. Serve Carne Asada tacos with Salsa Verde, onions, cilantro, sliced radishes, and grilled bulb onions or jalapenos.
